Free State Roll-out
In the Free State, SAPS colleagues received comprehensive training on both the IPM system and the rugged mobile units. Detectives were especially excited about the system's ability to provide a clear view of suspects in custody, acknowledging the significant benefits of its nationwide implementation.
Western Cape Roll-out
The IPM system's introduction in the Western Cape was met with great anticipation at Cape Town Central Police Station., The station's Detective Branch Commander, expressed particular interest in the system's potential to streamline investigations. "The IPM's ability to provide real-time updates on suspect movements will significantly reduce our response times,". SAPS members were impressed by the system's integration capabilities, seeing it as a vital tool in combating the province's unique crime challenges, particularly in high-tourist areas.
In Gauteng, the heart of South Africa's economic activity, the IPM roll-out at Johannesburg Central Police Station garnered significant attention. Brigadier Perumal, the station commander, highlighted the system's potential to enhance coordination in the bustling metropolitan area. "With the high volume of cases we handle daily, the IPM system's efficiency in processing and tracking suspects is a game-changer," he remarked. The leadership was particularly impressed with the digital fingerprinting capabilities, recognizing its potential in solving complex, tech-related crimes that are prevalent in the region.
