The Integrated Person Management (IPM) system includes SAPS Integrated Booking, Detention Management, and Unique Person Identifier, streamlining detainee management from arrest to court processing. This system enables seamless collaboration between SAPS and DOJ&CD, allowing for biometric enrolment, instant identity verification, and status checks against critical databases, including the Department of Home Affairs, SAPS criminal records, the National Register for Sex Offenders, and the Child Protection Register. Officers performing arrests can immediately access an individual’s criminal history, check for warrants, and confirm identities in real-time, eliminating manual checks, reducing delays, and ensuring faster, more accurate processing.
